“Schmidt’s Wallabies Achieve Great Victory in Sydney Debut Against Wales… Read More”

“Joe Schmidt’s Era Kicks Off with Wallabies’ 25-16 Win Over Wales”

The Joe Schmidt era begins with a victory as the Wallabies defeat Wales 25-16 in Sydney.

Aside from Tom Wright’s try, the performance was more solid than spectacular, but Aussie fans will be pleased as they leave the stadium and head into the Paddington streets.

“It’s a small step but an important one,” said Morgan Turinui on Stan Sport.

The same teams will face off again in Melbourne next Saturday.

Joe Schmidt starts with a win, seven debutants start with a win, and Liam Wright wins in his first Test as captain. They’ll improve, of course, when they meet again next week in Melbourne,” Turinui added.

Australia 25 (Taniela Tupou, Filipo Daugunu, Tom Wright tries; Noah Lolesio conversion, 2 penalties, Tom Lynagh conversion) Wales 16 (penalty try; Ben Thomas 3 penalties)
