The 25-year-old Romanian sensation is now on loan at Alaves after being transferred to La Liga at the beginning of the season. In the 22 games he has played for Alaves, he has only managed to score once, when he scored a double in a 10-0 Copa del Rey annihilation.
He hasn’t stepped on the field for Alaves in nearly a month and hasn’t started a league game since January.
There was much speculation that, rather than returning to Ibrox at the end of the season, Hagi would be signing for his well-known father Gheorghe’s former team, Galatasaray.
His father was a manager and player for the Turkish giants, and he was born in Istanbul.
Hagi will return to the Rangers when his loan agreement expires at the end of the season, according to confirmation from his agent Victor Becali. The 25-year-old’s Glasgow contract is still in effect for another two years.
“Ianis’ situation is clear—he will rejoin the Rangers at the end of the season,” he stated.
