Tottenham Considering Player-Plus-Cash Deal to Secure Eberechi Eze Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly exploring the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as a top target for Spurs this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. Eze has enjoyed an impressive campaign with Crystal Palace, showcasing his creativity, dribbling ability, and eye for goal. His performances have not only caught the attention of Tottenham but also several other Premier League clubs. However, Spurs appear to be pushing ahead with a concrete plan to bring him to north London. With a reported release clause in the region of £60–70 million, Tottenham are believed to be exploring alternative ways to structure the deal to make it more financially viable. One such option is offering a player in exchange, along with cash, to reduce the upfront cost. This approach could benefit both clubs: Tottenham would avoid a full cash outlay, while Palace could receive a quality replacement as part of the deal. Among the potential makeweights in the deal could be Giovani Lo Celso, who has struggled to secure a regular place in Ange Postecoglou’s starting lineup. The Argentine playmaker may appeal to Crystal Palace, who are in need of creative reinforcements, especially if Eze departs. Other fringe players such as Bryan Gil or Ryan Sessegnon could also be considered depending on Palace’s needs and Spurs’ willingness to let them go. Eze’s versatility is one of his standout qualities. Capable of playing as a No. 10, a wide attacking midfielder, or even deeper in a creative central role, he fits the profile of player Postecoglou values—technically gifted, intelligent in possession, and capable of breaking down defences. His arrival would add depth and dynamism to Spurs’ attack, especially as they aim to return to Champions League football. While no formal offer has been submitted yet, discussions are expected to progress in the coming weeks. Spurs fans will be eager to see how the club approaches the summer transfer window, especially after showing flashes of promise in Postecoglou’s first season in charge. If Tottenham can negotiate a favorable deal involving cash and a player, it could represent smart business and help secure one of the Premier League’s most exciting midfield talents.
