“Owner Jerry Jones Vows to Make Significant Changes After Cowboys Crushing Loss – Major Moves Coming Before Trade Deadline?”

“Jerry Jones Reaffirms Commitment to Cowboys’ Season Amid Struggles, Hints at Bold Moves Before Trade Deadline”

After the Cowboys’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, team owner Jerry Jones emphasized his commitment to the 2024 season, stating he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to improve the team after a tough 3-5 start.

“We’re committed to doing everything possible to strengthen this team, and if making a trade helps, we’ll do it,” Jones said. “I think it’s clear that we’re willing to go for it.”

Jones hinted that the Cowboys might be exploring trade options ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, even suggesting that some moves may already be in progress.

When asked about a potential trade, Jones responded, “Yes, it’s possible. It takes two sides to make a deal, but we’re actively working on things.”

He also expressed concern about the team’s current state.

“We might make a couple of moves this week, depending on how things go,” Jones added. “The reality is if there were clear solutions, this wouldn’t be the unpredictable game it is in the NFL.”

The front office previously expressed confidence in the current roster, but with mounting injuries and the team now two games below .500, a change may be necessary. Nonetheless, Jones remains confident in the team’s talent.

“I believe in the guys in that locker room; they can get it done,” he said. “I have faith in them, including the coaches.”

This confidence extends to head coach Mike McCarthy, who’s in the final year of his contract. Jones reiterated his support for McCarthy.

“I’m confident in Mike. I know his work ethic and his football intelligence,” Jones said. “He’s got a strong coaching record, and the players respect him. He’s passionate about this.”

It was clear that this loss hit Jones hard, as he shared a story with the team about Michael Irvin’s comeback from knee surgery to lead the Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories. Reflecting on those memories, Jones remains optimistic despite the challenging start to the season.

“I’ve seen situations look bleak before, only to turn around,” Jones said. “I’m far from losing faith in this team or this season.”
