“Verstappen Condemns McLaren’s Handling of Lando Norris as Championship Battle Intensifies”
Max Verstappen has criticized McLaren for their unacceptable treatment of another Formula 1 driver as his title fight with Lando Norris approaches its conclusion.
McLaren and Norris have been steadily reducing the gap in both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships, even managing to overtake Red Bull in Baku.
However, Verstappen maintains his lead over Norris in the drivers’ standings, and as the number of races in 2024 decreases, Norris’ chances of winning his first world title are fading.
Norris’ pursuit of the 2024 championship has not been free of controversy, particularly regarding McLaren’s team orders and the ‘papaya rules’ established between him and his teammate, Oscar Piastri.
