Breaking News:Green Bay Packers Initial Running Back RB Eddie Lacy Arrested In Arizona.

“Former NFL Running Back Eddie Lacy Arrested for Extreme DUI in Arizona”

Eddie Lacy, a former NFL running back, was arrested on September 30 in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a reported blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.325%—about four times the state’s legal limit. Police responded to a 911 call about a potentially impaired driver, leading to Lacy’s arrest at around 10:40 p.m. Lacy, who previously played for the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks, was charged with four DUI-related offenses, including “extreme DUI” due to his high BAC, and for having an open alcohol container in his vehicle. Arizona law defines an extreme DUI as a BAC of 0.15% or higher.

When officers interacted with Lacy, they noted his speech was slow, slurred, and mumbled, further indicating impairment. Bodycam footage shows Lacy claiming he had only one drink on a flight from Wisconsin to Arizona before the incident. This arrest follows earlier legal issues, as Lacy was involved in a DUI case in March 2022, also in Scottsdale. In that case, he faced five charges, including two counts of extreme DUI, though four were dismissed after he pleaded guilty to a BAC of 0.20% or higher.

In addition to his 2022 DUI, Lacy pleaded guilty in September 2022 to driving with a suspended or revoked license. Before his legal troubles, Lacy had a successful college football career at Alabama and was drafted by the Packers in 2013. He had an impressive rookie season, rushing for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and a Pro Bowl selection.

However, Lacy’s NFL career declined after his first two seasons, as ankle and groin injuries affected his performance in 2015. He missed most of the 2016 season due to an ankle injury and was placed on injured reserve. After his rookie contract ended, the Packers did not offer him a long-term deal, and weight management issues complicated his efforts to secure another one.

Lacy signed with the Seattle Seahawks for the 2017 season after meeting weight requirements, but his playing time was limited due to a crowded backfield. He appeared in nine games, starting three, and rushed for just 179 yards without scoring a touchdown, marking the end of his NFL career.
