JUST IN:Pittsburgh Steelers Has Officially Released Plans For The Veteran Quarterback QB Russell Wilson Against Jets Showdown.

Russell Wilson to Reclaim Starting QB Role for Steelers in Week 7

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to give veteran quarterback Russell Wilson a chance to reclaim the starting role. According to wide receiver George Pickens, Wilson will lead the team in their Week 7 game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

When asked earlier this week about the quarterback situation, head coach Mike Tomlin declined to reveal whether Wilson or Justin Fields, who started the first six games, would be under center. However, Pickens later confirmed Wilson’s return, saying, “We’ve been working extra after practice since this will be his first start.”

Wilson joined the Steelers on a one-year deal after being released by the Denver Broncos, with the team later acquiring Fields via trade. During training camp, Wilson won the starting job over Fields, but a calf injury sidelined him before Week 1.

In Wilson’s absence, Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record, posting a 66.3% completion rate, 1,106 passing yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. Despite Fields’ solid performance, the coaching staff appears ready to give Wilson another shot, hoping to spark even greater success.
