Breaking News: One-time Super Bowl champ, LSU Icon Set To Be A Tremendous College Football RB Coach

It’s easy to forget how exciting Leonard Fournette was in his peak because it’s been a minute since we last saw him perform.

This is the same running back who was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He later moved to Tampa Bay and played a significant role in Tom Brady and the Buccaneers’ journey to the Super Bowl.

LSU legend would be a tremendous college football RB coach

Further back in time, Fournette was a complete monster at LSU. In particular, he had an amazing season in 2015. For the Tigers that season, he ran 300 times for 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns. With LSU, he also provided us with moments like these:

Those highlight-reel plays alone make Fournette’s latest tweet somewhat interesting. He was apparently thinking about his future a bit since he hasn’t seen the field in the NFL in some time.

Could coaching be in his future? It sure sounds like he’d be interested if a gig at LSU ever opened up.

For Fournette, the problem here is that Wilson is somewhat of a legend in Baton Rouge. In addition to being a fantastic running backs coach, he is also a fantastic recruiter. A contract extension until the 2026 season was also only recently granted to him.

Even if LSU doesn’t currently have a running backs coach in search of a replacement, Fournette would still be a tremendous asset to the Tigers should he decide to pursue coaching.

His experience and the presence he would bring to the recruiting trail are also highly desirable to many other college programs.
