Wolves are anxiously awaiting updates on the condition of Hwang Hee-chan, who sustained an ankle injury while playing for South Korea. The 28-year-old forward had to be carried off just 20 minutes into South Korea’s 2-0 victory over Jordan in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday night.
Upon returning to Seoul, Hwang was seen being transported in a wheelchair through the airport. Wolves are still waiting for detailed medical feedback, but it’s likely they won’t receive a full assessment until Hwang returns to the UK next week.
Hwang’s injury adds to a challenging season for both the player and the club. After earning a new contract through 2028 thanks to his strong form last season, Hwang has struggled this campaign, with his last Premier League start coming in a 6-2 loss to Chelsea on August 25.
