Breaking News: Wide Receiver (WR) Davante Adams and Pittsburgh Steelers Top Contenders Share ‘Mutual Interest’.

“Steelers Eye Davante Adams as Jets and Saints Face Trade Setbacks”

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been keeping an eye on Davante Adams, but recent developments involving the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints could push them into serious contention. Adams, who previously played with Saints quarterback Derek Carr at Fresno State and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, has expressed a desire to reunite with one of them.

On Tuesday, the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh and promoted defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, with general manager Joe Douglas staying on. Meanwhile, Derek Carr of the Saints sustained an oblique injury that could sideline him for several games. With the Saints struggling at 2-3, their interest in pursuing Adams might diminish if they can’t stay competitive.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, talks between the Jets and Saints regarding Adams may have slowed, especially since no team has yet met the Raiders’ asking price of a second-round pick and additional compensation.

“I think the developments in New York and New Orleans may have stalled discussions with those teams,” Schefter said. “It’s widely expected that Adams will be traded, but the timing and destination are still up in the air.”

Although Adams is recovering from a hamstring injury, he is expected to be ready to play if a trade occurs this week. However, it’s unclear if he will take the field even if healthy. Other teams reportedly interested in Adams include the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.
