“Steelers’ Tackle Dylan Cook Out Indefinitely with Lisfranc Injury, Team Weighs Depth Options”

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Dylan Cook, currently on injured reserve, is dealing with a Lisfranc injury that will likely sideline him for at least four weeks. Cook, a promising player who made the roster last season, would be a valuable asset for the Steelers.

Although Cook is now out of a walking boot, he is approaching his recovery cautiously. The Steelers are wary due to a past experience with wide receiver Calvin Austin III, who re-injured his foot in practice and required season-ending surgery. While Cook’s injury doesn’t need surgery at the moment, it could if aggravated.

The Steelers hope to have Cook back as their versatile swing tackle, capable of playing on both sides. In the meantime, they may need to explore external options or promote John Leglue from the practice squad to fill in until Cook is ready to return.

Cook is expected to be out at least until the Indianapolis game, but given the unpredictable nature of his injury, he could miss more time. The Steelers will prioritize his full recovery before he returns, but once healthy, Cook could strengthen the depth of their offensive line.
