“Zalewski Excluded from Roma Squad After Turning Down Galatasaray Transfer”
There are reports suggesting that Roma responded with frustration after Nicola Zalewski declined a transfer to Galatasaray, resulting in his exclusion from the squad.
The club had agreed on a lucrative deal for the wing-back, reportedly worth €11 million plus €4 million in bonuses, along with a percentage of any future sale.
This would have been pure profit for Roma, as Zalewski came through their youth system and progressed to the senior team.
However, Zalewski rejected the move to Galatasaray. The Poland international made unrealistic demands regarding a release clause and expressed his preference to stay at Stadio Olimpico.
This poses a significant issue since his contract expires in June 2025, and Roma now face the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.
As a result, Sky Sport Italia reports that Zalewski is being sidelined for the time being.
At 22 years old, Zalewski is one of the lowest-paid players in the squad, earning only €350,000 per year.
