“Roma to Extend Mile Svilar’s Contract and Double His Salary After Impressive Performances”

Roma managed to make significant investments last summer without the need for major player sales and successfully fended off interest in their key asset, Mile Svilar. The club will need to offer him a new contract since he hasn’t received an update since taking over the starting goalkeeper position from Rui Patricio.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Svilar earns one of the lowest salaries on the team, approximately €800k per year. Roma acquired him on a free transfer from Benfica following a recommendation from José Mourinho, after he had struggled to secure a regular spot in Portugal.

Svilar began playing in the Europa League shortly after joining Roma, and by February, he also started featuring in Serie A matches. He has played in 37 games for Roma, conceding 39 goals and recording 13 clean sheets. Although he earned one cap for Serbia in a friendly, he later chose to represent Belgium, though he has yet to be called up by the Red Devils."Breaking:How Can a Professional Red Devils Player Be Receiving €800k /Year? The club plans to extend his contract, which currently runs until 2027, by a couple of years and propose to double his salary. Roma clearly see him as a valuable find and will likely want to secure him long-term. It will be interesting to see if his new contract includes a release clause, but it appears the club is no longer in a position where they need to sell players to fund new acquisitions.
