“Everton Takeover: John Textor Eyes Abel Ferreira as Replacement for Sean Dyche”
Everton’s potential future owner, John Textor, has reportedly already identified a new head coach to replace Sean Dyche if his takeover bid is successful, with Dyche potentially facing an early dismissal.
Textor, an American businessman, is working to complete a deal to take control of Everton, while also trying to sell his shares in Crystal Palace. This comes despite Everton’s financial struggles and their current position at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Dyche came under fire after Everton squandered a two-goal lead against Bournemouth, conceding three late goals to lose the match despite being 2-0 up after 87 minutes.
According to *The Sun*, if Textor’s takeover is finalized, he plans to replace Dyche with Abel Ferreira. The Portuguese coach recently led Palmeiras to a Brazilian league title and has been considered for a job in England for some time.
Textor, who has observed Ferreira’s teams closely as the owner of Brazilian side Botafogo, is reportedly keen to bring the 45-year-old to Everton. Ferreira recently turned down a lucrative offer from Qatari club Al Sadd, choosing instead to extend his contract with Palmeiras until December 2025.
“I am a project coach, and this club has a project,” Ferreira said. “When all the conditions are right, and you’re where everyone wants you, where you want to be, and where your family wants to stay, it’s much easier to make these kinds of decisions. This is also a result of the hard work of our players.”
