“Jalen Ramsey Signs Contract Extension with Dolphins Through 2028”

The Miami Dolphins announced on Saturday that they have extended cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s contract through the 2028 season.

Ramsey, recently named a team captain, is entering his ninth NFL season and his second with the Dolphins, having been traded from the L.A. Rams to Miami on March 15, 2023. In his first season with Miami, Ramsey started 10 games, recording 22 tackles (18 solo), three interceptions, and five passes defended. After recovering from an injury during training camp, he returned to the lineup in Week 8, making an immediate impact by intercepting three passes in his first two games back. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 11 against Las Vegas.

A Super Bowl LVI Champion, Ramsey has been selected to seven consecutive Pro Bowls, tying him for the fourth-longest streak by an NFL defensive back since 1970.

Ranked No. 25 on the 2024 NFL Network Top 100 list, Ramsey has played in 118 career games with 117 starts, amassing 474 tackles (393 solo), 2.0 sacks, 22 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 97 passes defended, seven forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. His 22 interceptions since 2016 rank fifth among NFL cornerbacks during that period. He entered the league as the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by Jacksonville after a standout collegiate career at Florida State.
