“UEFA Financial Fair Play Verdict: Milan and Inter Clear, Roma Hit with €2M Fine; Sanctions for Other Clubs”

UEFA has confirmed that both Milan and Inter have adhered to their Financial Fair Play (FFP) requirements, while Roma has been penalized €2 million for a minor infraction.

The Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) evaluated the clubs involved in the 2023-24 season who were under settlement agreements. Milan, Inter, AS Monaco, Olympique Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain, Besiktas, Trabzonspor, and Royal Antwerp all met their financial targets for 2023.

However, Roma slightly exceeded their intermediate target, resulting in the €2 million fine.

Milan and Inter will participate in the Champions League, whereas Roma is competing in the Europa League.

In addition, UEFA imposed sanctions on other clubs. Istanbul Basaksehir failed to meet their final target and could face exclusion from future UEFA competitions unless they comply with financial regulations in the 2024-25 season. The club will also face restrictions on their squad and signing new players.

Aston Villa and Olympique Marseille were fined €60,000 and €20,000, respectively, for submitting their financial information late.
