JUST IN: Dolphins Submit Bid for Laremy Tunsil to Replace Retired Terron Armstead
The Miami Dolphins are wasting no time filling a major hole on their offensive line.
According to league sources, Miami has officially submitted a trade bid for star left tackle Laremy Tunsil, currently with the Washington Commanders. This move comes directly in response to the recent retirement of veteran LT Terron Armstead, who announced he’s stepping away from football after a decorated 12-year career.
Tunsil, a former Dolphin and three-time Pro Bowler, is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s best pass blockers. He began his career in Miami before being traded to Houston in 2019. Now, the Dolphins are looking to bring him back — this time as the anchor of their offensive line.
Why It Matters:
Armstead’s departure left a massive gap at left tackle.
Tunsil is in his prime, still performing at a high level with elite pass protection skills.
He offers a familiar face in Miami, having played there from 2016–2018.
The Commanders recently acquired Tunsil as part of their rebuild, but Miami is reportedly offering strong capital in hopes of sealing a deal quickly before training camp.
If successful, the Dolphins would replace a retiring veteran with a top-tier talent — without missing a beat up front.
