Manchester United Eye Shock Move for Mitrovic as AC Milan Dream of Modric

As the summer transfer window heats up, two surprise moves are making waves across Europe. Manchester United are reportedly considering a sensational swoop for Aleksandar Mitrovic, while AC Milan have set their sights on veteran midfielder Luka Modric.

United Target Saudi Pro League Star Mitrovic

According to talkSPORT, Manchester United are among three Premier League clubs exploring a move for former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The 30-year-old Serbia international left Craven Cottage in the summer of 2023 for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia and has since been in prolific form, netting 68 goals in just 79 appearances.

The reported £40 million fee would be a significant outlay for a player who had an up-and-down career in England before his Saudi stint, but United appear serious about adding a physical, proven goal-scorer to their ranks.

With the Red Devils struggling for consistent output from their current strikers and uncertainty over the future of Anthony Martial, Mitrovic could offer an experienced option capable of leading the line.

Everton and West Ham are also said to be monitoring the situation. Both clubs are eager to bolster their attacking options, and Mitrovic’s Premier League experience makes him an attractive target. However, United’s financial strength and global stature could give them an edge in negotiations.

Still, any move will hinge on the player’s willingness to return to the Premier League and whether Al Hilal are open to letting him go. At 30, this could represent one of Mitrovic’s final big-money moves.

AC Milan Plot Ambitious Modric Move

Meanwhile, in Italy, AC Milan are reportedly pursuing a “dream move” for Real Madrid legend Luka Modric. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 39-year-old Croatian is a top target for the Rossoneri as they look to inject experience and leadership into their midfield this summer.

Modric, whose Real Madrid contract expires this month, is expected to take time before making a final decision on his future, having received offers from multiple clubs.

The midfielder played an astonishing 56 games for Los Blancos last season, helping them clinch another La Liga title and reach the UEFA Champions League final.

AC Milan, who finished second in Serie A and are preparing for a Champions League return, see Modric not only as a tactical asset but as a mentor for their young midfield talents.

While signing a player nearing 40 would typically be viewed as a risk, Modric’s enduring quality and professionalism continue to make him one of the most respected figures in world football.

Whether either move materializes remains to be seen, but both rumors underline the unpredictable and often dramatic nature of football’s summer transfer window.
