“Against All Odds: Boca Raton’s Wyatt Ray Fulfills Childhood Dream with Miami Dolphins”

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Grit and determination perfectly capture the essence of Wyatt Ray, the Miami Dolphins’ newest signee and Boca Raton native.

Ray has spent the last six years navigating the NFL, and last season, he excelled in the United Football League.

Now, Ray aims to prove his skills and secure a lasting spot with the team he admired growing up.

“I’m still on cloud nine,” said Ray’s mother, Casey Cole Ray, to WPTV on Tuesday.

After placing two linebackers on injured reserve Monday, the Miami Dolphins announced Ray’s signing.

“He inspires me every day. I couldn’t do what he’s doing,” Cole Ray said."LOCAL HERO Returns: Wyatt Ray’s Remarkable Journey from UFL Standout to Miami Dolphins Signee...Read more"

Wyatt’s path to the Dolphins has been full of challenges, yet he’s continued to thrive.

“He went to high school here in Boca Raton, then St. Thomas Aquinas, and later Boston College. His journey has been relentless,” Cole Ray explained.

Ray went undrafted after graduating from Boston College in 2018 but signed with the Cleveland Browns.

He moved between several NFL teams before shining in the United Football League last season, which put him on the Dolphins’ radar.

Now, the former UFL star is back in the NFL, where he belongs.

“It’s surreal,” said Cole Ray. “It’s incredible to see my son chase his dreams and succeed.”

Ray will have his first opportunity to play for Miami this Saturday when the Dolphins face the Commanders.
