To focus on the 2028 Olympics, this Cowboys star may give up football.
Fans of the Dallas Cowboys, turn away. One elite defensive player may decide to retire from football in order to increase his chances of competing in the Los Angeles Summer Olympics in 2028. Defensive end Micah Parsons asked his followers on X on Sunday night what events they should train for and qualify for at the next Summer Olympics.
If Parsons wants to, he can play flag football for Team USA. The Los Angeles Games will be the venue for the sport’s debut. Alternatively, he could try to become the fastest man alive in the 100-meter dash. At the 2021 NFL Combine, Parsons’ 40-yard dash timed in at 4.36 seconds.
During the Paris Games, Parsons, 25, had symptoms of Olympic fever, however it’s unclear if he was kidding or taking things very seriously. Parsons appeared to announce on X Sunday night that he would take “a break from football” in 2027 to prepare for the Olympics.
Parson’s title chances could be limited for Dallas supporters if he is genuinely dedicated to attempting to make it to the Los Angeles Games. As the 2024–25 NFL season draws near, owner Jerry Jones’ list of headaches is getting longer.
