Nick Saban and Andrew Whitworth Inducted into Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame

Nick Saban, widely regarded as one of the greatest head coaches in college football history, has received another accolade to his already legendary career. On April 9, 2025, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame announced that Saban, known for his remarkable success with the Alabama Crimson Tide, would be inducted into the Hall’s 2025 class.

His induction is a recognition not only of his dominance in the college football world but also of his significant contributions to the LSU Tigers program, where his coaching career first took off.

Saban’s time with LSU, from 2000 to 2004, was highly successful, where he compiled an impressive 48-16 record. During his tenure, he guided the Tigers to two SEC championships and made five straight bowl game appearances, cementing his legacy in Baton Rouge. The peak of his LSU career came in 2003, when his team went 13-1, winning the Sugar Bowl 47-32 against the Oklahoma Sooners, earning LSU’s second national championship in school history.

Whitworth, a standout on the LSU offensive line, went on to have a successful NFL career, playing for the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, where he earned a Super Bowl ring in 2022.
