The match was packed with action, particularly in the first half, where Forest established a commanding 3-0 lead by halftime. The game’s opening goal came in the 35th minute, as Forest’s Serbian defender, Milenković, rose to the occasion, scoring the first goal of the match. Just two minutes later, Forest doubled their lead thanks to a fine strike from Anthony Elanga, who was proving to be the key figure in the game. Elanga’s brace came in the 41st minute, as he added another goal to his tally, ensuring a comfortable advantage for his side.

Ipswich Town, however, wasn’t prepared to simply roll over. The hosts showed some fight in the second half and reduced the deficit in the 82nd minute through a strike from Yasir Cajuste. Ipswich’s hopes were further raised when Jota Silva scored for Forest in the 87th minute to re-establish the visitors’ three-goal lead. Yet, Ipswich’s George Hirst struck a late goal in the 93rd minute, making the score 4-2.

Nottingham Forest’s dominance throughout the match was evident, with Elanga’s performance being the highlight. His brace in the first half helped lay the foundation for the win, and his overall play was instrumental in Forest’s high pressing game. The visitors also received a solid performance from their defense, which stood firm under pressure, despite Ipswich’s late push.

The match saw multiple substitutions for both teams, with Forest making changes in the second half, bringing on the likes of Danilo, Yates, and Awoniyi to bolster their lead. Ipswich also made several adjustments, including bringing on striker Hirst in the 80th minute, who did manage to score, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Ipswich Town had their moments but struggled to deal with Forest’s attacking flair, and they were ultimately unable to capitalize on their chances. Forest’s tactical setup and Elanga’s individual brilliance ensured the visitors held on to claim all three points.

With this crucial victory, Nottingham Forest remains firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish, a position that could secure them a spot in next season’s European competitions. The win also marks another step in their impressive campaign under manager Steve Cooper. As the Premier League race intensifies, Forest’s European aspirations remain very much alive.
