Confirmed: Miami Dolphins Set to Re-Sign Key CB as Team Locks in Secondary Depth with Smart One-Year Deal—Includes Performance Bonuses That Could Push Value Over $5M

The Miami Dolphins are making moves to solidify their secondary, as the team is set to re-sign cornerback Elijah Campbell to a one-year deal worth $1.9 million, sources confirm. However, the deal could be worth significantly more, with performance-based incentives that could push the total value past $5 million.

Campbell, 28, has been a reliable depth piece in Miami’s defensive backfield since joining the team in 2021. While he hasn’t been a full-time starter, his versatility and special teams contributions have made him a key asset for the Dolphins. With injuries plaguing Miami’s secondary in recent seasons, retaining Campbell ensures the team maintains experienced depth at a crucial position.

According to league insiders, the new deal includes incentives tied to playing time, defensive snaps, and turnovers, potentially allowing Campbell to earn well above his base salary. The structure of the contract reflects Miami’s continued emphasis on competition and performance-based rewards under head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier.

Campbell appeared in 14 games for the Dolphins in 2023, contributing both on defense and special teams. His return strengthens a secondary that already boasts stars like Jalen Ramsey and Jevon Holland.

With the move, Miami continues its offseason strategy of retaining key depth players while keeping financial flexibility for other roster upgrades. The Dolphins are expected to remain active in both free agency and the draft as they look to bolster their roster for another playoff push in 2025.
