Celebrating Black History Month: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future
February marks the beginning of Black History Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It’s a month of reflection, celebration, and, most importantly, inspiration.
This month is an opportunity to not only honor the legacy of those who fought for freedom, equality, and justice but also to recognize the impact that individuals are making today.
Black History Month was officially recognized by the U.S. government in 1976, but its roots trace back to 1926, when historian Carter G. Woodson initiated “Negro History Week” during the second week of February.
