Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has included three promising young players of Nigerian descent in his squad traveling to the United States.

Among them is Bosun Lawal (21), who joins former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi (21), signed by Celtic in 2019, and 18-year-old B team standout Josh Dede on the tour.

Although Tobi Oluwayemi has yet to make a senior competitive appearance, he is highly regarded for his potential.

Celtic’s pre-season agenda includes a US tour featuring friendly matches against DC United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

Upon their arrival in the United States, the squad visited the White House, where a photo revealed the identities of the nine academy players included in the tour."Emerging Stars: Celtic's Nigerian-Born Talents Shine on US Tour...Discover Their Journey!"

Bosun Lawal, born in Ireland, aims to impress Brendan Rodgers following a successful loan stint with Fleetwood Town in English football’s third tier.

Despite Fleetwood Town’s relegation to League 2, Lawal demonstrated his readiness and quality to compete at a professional level.

During his time with Fleetwood Town, Lawal showcased versatility, initially known as a defender but also excelling with the ball and demonstrating impressive passing ability, which led to him being utilized in midfield.

He appeared in 42 matches, scoring six goals, and played 19 times as a central defender, 17 times as a central midfielder, and four times as a defensive midfielder throughout the season.
