“Arsenal Bolster Goalkeeping Ranks with Ajax’s Tommy Setford”

Arsenal have reportedly agreed to sign England U20 goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax.

The Gunners aim to strengthen their goalkeeper lineup after completing a £27m deal for David Raya from Brentford following his successful loan spell.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal has negotiated with Ajax for Setford’s transfer this summer.

The 18-year-old is expected to join for a fee of £869,000 plus add-ons, signing an initial four-year contract.

Setford, whose brother Charlie is also a goalkeeper at Ajax, is highly regarded and has progressed through the Dutch club’s ranks.

Arsenal recently released goalkeepers Ovie Ejeheri, James Hillson, and Arthur Okonkwo at the end of the season.

Additionally, they have signed 18-year-old Danish goalkeeper Lucas Nygaard, who previously worked with Arsenal coach Inaki Cana at FC Nordsjaelland.
