West Ham United received a nice response following their substantial offer for the Euro 2024 star.

West Ham United seems to have been one of the more active clubs in the transfer market thus far this summer. Technical director Tim Steidten is undoubtedly eager to impress incoming first-team coach Julen Lopetegui, and he is putting in extra effort to try and bring in the players the Spaniard desires.

Only two, Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme, have been signed so far; more are anticipated to be signed prior to the 2024–2024 campaign commencing. West Ham is turned down by Mikautadze Georges Mikautadze, the hero of Georgia’s Euro 2024 campaign, is one player for whom Le10 Sport reported that the Hammers had offered by far the highest offer out of those teams interested. According to the newspaper, West Ham’s offer was significantly higher than the €20 million that his club, Metz, had anticipated for as a transfer fee.

But because the team won’t be participating in European competition the next season, it appears from a more current Le10 Sport story that the player has no interest in playing for the team.

It’s a scenario that residents of East London might encounter repeatedly this summer. After all is said and done, West Ham remains a mid-table Premier League team despite their best efforts to move on from what was, to put it mildly, a stagnant brand of game under David Moyes. Because all they can offer right now is the possibility of what might be, no player worth their salt will want to sign with them.

At the very least, elite athletes aspire to be part of every European campaign, believing that qualification for the Champions League is attainable. Lopetegui believes the Hammers will eventually move there, but they haven’t arrived yet, so they may run into issues this summer.
