Dolphins Club Chiefs Urged To Trade For Ravens CB Chidobe Awuzie After Massive Setbacks
Following the Miami Dolphins’ decision to trade star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, the team’s cornerback depth took a major hit, leaving the unit among the weakest in the league.
The situation worsened when their top remaining corner, Kader Kohou, suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for the entire 2025 season. Just a week earlier, Kohou’s backup in the slot, veteran Artie Burns, had also been ruled out for the year after tearing his ACL.
Given these setbacks, it comes as little surprise that Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has suggested the Dolphins pursue a trade for Baltimore Ravens cornerback Chidobe Awuzie ahead of the 2025 regular season kickoff.
Dolphins Could Be Wise to Target Former Second-Rounder
“The Dolphins lost a major piece of their secondary this offseason when they shipped Jalen Ramsey to the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Kay noted on Thursday. “Although Miami gained another elite defender in Minkah Fitzpatrick, the cornerback group still requires reinforcements before the season begins.”

“Chidobe Awuzie might be attainable now that Baltimore landed Jaire Alexander following his departure from Green Bay,” Kay explained. “While the Ravens could opt to keep Awuzie for depth and insurance, roster limitations after final cuts may force their hand. If Miami were to offer an early Day 3 draft pick, that could be enough to convince Baltimore to part ways with him.”
