INCREDIBLE: The Tua Foundation Has Donated $408,000 and Grants to Support Families Affected by the Maui Wildfires
In a powerful act of generosity, the Tua Foundation — led by Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa — has donated $408,000 in funds and grants to support families devastated by the catastrophic wildfires in Maui. This heartfelt initiative aims to provide relief, recovery, and hope to a community still reeling from one of the worst natural disasters in Hawaii’s history.
The foundation, named after Tagovailoa, who is of Samoan descent and was born in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, has always held deep ties to the islands. When the fires tore through Lahaina in August 2023, killing nearly 100 people and destroying thousands of homes and businesses, Tua responded with immediate concern and action. His foundation quickly mobilized resources, raising awareness and funds to help those in desperate need.

“This is personal for me,” Tagovailoa said in a statement. “Hawaii will always be my home, and when my home hurts, I hurt. This is about more than football — it’s about family, faith, and stepping up when people need you.”
Fans and teammates have praised Tua’s leadership both on and off the field, calling this initiative another example of how he uses his platform for meaningful change. The Tua Foundation continues to accept donations and raise awareness, proving that even in the darkest times, community and compassion can light the way forward.
