IT’S DONE: Montreal Canadiens Sign Forward Vinzenz Rohrer to Three-Year Entry-Level Deal
Montreal, QC – June 14, 2025
The Montreal Canadiens have officially announced the signing of forward Vinzenz Rohrer to a three-year entry-level contract, marking a significant step in the team’s ongoing youth movement and roster development.
Rohrer, a promising Austrian-born forward, has drawn attention with his high-energy play, sharp hockey sense, and consistent development since being selected by the Canadiens in the third round (75th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. The new contract is seen as a strategic commitment by the organization, signaling confidence in Rohrer’s ability to make an impact at the professional level.
General Manager Kent Hughes commented on the signing:

Rohrer, 20, most recently played with the ZSC Lions in the Swiss National League (NL), where he posted a solid season against veteran competition. Prior to that, he spent two years with the Ottawa 67’s in the OHL, where he became known for his two-way play and leadership qualities.
Under the terms of the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, Rohrer’s entry-level contract will carry a maximum term of three years. Financial details were not disclosed, but the deal is believed to include performance bonuses, reflecting the team’s high expectations for the young forward.
Rohrer is expected to participate in the Canadiens’ development camp later this summer, with a strong chance of joining the Laval Rocket (AHL) or contending for a roster spot in Montreal during training camp.
With this signing, the Canadiens continue to build a foundation of skilled, young talent as they reshape the franchise for sustained success.
