“It’s In The Owner’s Hands”: Micah Parson Takes A Swipe At Jerry Jones Amid Cowboys Contract Drama.
Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons has publicly addressed his ongoing contract negotiations, signaling that the next move lies with team owner Jerry Jones. Despite entering the final year of his rookie deal, Parsons confirmed via social media that he will attend the team’s mandatory minicamp from June 10–12, stating, “I will be there! I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook! I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!”

Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, has amassed 52.5 sacks and 63 tackles for loss over four seasons, making a strong case for a record-breaking contract that could surpass Myles Garrett’s $160 million deal—the highest ever for a defensive player.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has previously expressed a lack of urgency regarding Parsons’ extension, stating, “I don’t view it as urgent at all… I’d rather pay more and get it right.”
The negotiations have also seen tension over representation, with Parsons insisting on his agent David Mulugheta’s involvement. Jones had downplayed Mulugheta’s role, claiming he didn’t even know his name, prompting Parsons to reaffirm his trust in his agent and reject any attempts to sideline him.
As the Cowboys prepare for the upcoming season, Parsons’ commitment to attending minicamp underscores his dedication to the team, even as contract discussions continue. His performance remains pivotal to Dallas’s defensive strategy, and securing his long-term presence will be crucial for the franchise’s success.
