DONE DEAL: Tasmania JackJumpers Secure Promising Talent Kobe Williamson on Two-Year Deal.
The Tasmania JackJumpers have bolstered their frontcourt with the signing of 6-foot-8 center Kobe Williamson on a two-year contract, as announced by the club on May 20, 2025. This acquisition marks a significant step in the JackJumpers’ strategy to reinforce their roster ahead of the NBL26 season.

Williamson, a Melbourne native, is set to graduate from Seattle University, where he averaged 9.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in his senior year. His collegiate performance has been characterized by strong physical play and a robust presence in the paint, attributes that the JackJumpers are eager to integrate into their lineup.
“Kobe is a promising young big with huge potential,” stated Darren Smith, the JackJumpers’ Chief Operating Officer. “He’s a strong, physical player who will improve our rebounding on both ends and add depth in our bigs rotation. We’re excited to support his development and see the impact he can make in a JackJumpers jersey.”
Williamson’s basketball journey includes representing Australia in junior national teams, notably contributing to the gold medal victory at the 2018 FIBA Asia Cup. His international experience is expected to bring a competitive edge to the JackJumpers’ squad.
Expressing his enthusiasm about joining the team, Williamson said, “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get to work with the coaching staff and my new teammates. I’ve kept an eye on what the JackJumpers have built and feel like it’s something really special, so I’m excited to be part of it.”
The JackJumpers, who clinched their first NBL championship in 2024, are aiming to build on their recent success. The addition of Williamson is seen as a strategic move to enhance their competitiveness in the upcoming season. Head Coach Scott Roth has emphasized the importance of strengthening the team’s interior presence, and Williamson’s signing aligns with this vision.
Williamson is expected to join the JackJumpers in late July, ahead of the NBL26 preseason. His integration into the team will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike, as the JackJumpers prepare to defend their title and continue their ascent in the league.
