Denkha Successfully Defends National Snooker Title
In a thrilling display of composure and skill, Denkha has once again asserted his dominance on the national snooker scene, successfully defending his title and cementing his status as one of the country’s finest players. The national championship final, held in front of a packed audience at the Grand Arena in the capital, saw Denkha rise to the occasion with a commanding 7–3 victory over rising star Faisal Karim.
The defending champion entered the tournament as the favorite, having shown consistent form throughout the season. However, with a number of talented newcomers and seasoned veterans in the draw, Denkha’s path to the final was far from straightforward. After battling through a tough quarterfinal against veteran player Ali Shan and a tense semifinal against former champion Amir Qureshi, Denkha booked his place in the final for a third consecutive year.
The final itself was a gripping affair. Karim, just 23 and playing in his first national final, started strong and matched Denkha frame for frame in the opening stages. With the scores tied at 3–3, it looked as though the final could go the distance. But Denkha’s experience began to show. With precise potting and exceptional safety play, he rattled off four consecutive frames, leaving no room for Karim to mount a comeback.
After the win, Denkha spoke humbly about his performance. “It was a tough match. Faisal played incredibly well and pushed me hard in the early frames. But I stayed focused and stuck to my game plan,” he said. “Defending this title means everything. It shows that the hard work I’ve put in over the past year has paid off.”
The victory marks Denkha’s third national title, a remarkable achievement in a sport that is growing steadily in popularity across the country. His calm demeanor under pressure and tactical prowess continue to set him apart in major competitions.
Officials from the National Snooker Federation praised both finalists for their high-quality play and sportsmanship. “This final showcased the very best of our national talent. Denkha’s consistency and professionalism are an inspiration, and Faisal’s performance signals a bright future,” said tournament director Farooq Ahmed.
As Denkha lifts the trophy once more, attention now turns to the international circuit, where he is expected to represent the country later this year. With confidence and form on his side, Denkha will undoubtedly be a player to watch.
