The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to youth health and development by announcing a generous financial contribution of $970,576 to support 57 organizations dedicated to improving the well-being of underprivileged children across 11 administrative regions in Quebec.

The announcement was made at a special event held at the Bell Centre on May 21. These grants will fund programs that encourage physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles among youth aged 4 to 17, especially those from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

“This day reflects our commitment to promoting young people’s health and development across the province of Quebec,” said Pierre Boivin, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “By supporting dedicated organizations, we help create environments where all children can grow, play, and dream, regardless of their circumstances.”

The donations will go toward a wide range of impactful initiatives:

  • Free summer and day camp access for vulnerable youth
  • Construction of inclusive playgrounds and motor-skill circuits
  • Installation of new play modules and obstacle courses
  • Provision of essential sports equipment
  • Organization of multi-sport activities including hockey, soccer, skating, basketball, and more

Nearly 20,000 children will directly benefit from this year’s funding, which focuses on reducing barriers to physical activity — a persistent issue for families living in poverty or dealing with disabilities and special needs.

Organizations supported include schools, youth centers, and pediatric social service organizations from Montréal, Laval, Montérégie, Estrie, Mauricie, and beyond — each chosen through a competitive application process that prioritizes initiatives with measurable impact and long-term benefit.

Among the notable beneficiaries this year are Camp Amy Molson, Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ, Maison des jeunes L’Escampette, and Mission Inclusion, as well as rural groups like Maison de la famille du Témiscouata and Maison des jeunes du Bas-Saguenay.

Since its creation in 2000, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation has donated over $22.17 million to more than 900 charities, in addition to investing over $50 million overall through its flagship BLEU BLANC BOUGE community rink initiative and other youth programs.

Applications for next year’s funding will open on September 1 and remain open through November 30, with grants awarded in spring 2026.
