The NHL has also issued a statement expressing support for the players, their families, and the Canucks organization, adding that updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
The team had recently returned to Vancouver following a road trip and was scheduled for a closed practice session tomorrow ahead of their upcoming playoff game. The organization has since cancelled all media availabilities.
