USC Trojans Push to Flip Four-Star WR Vance Spafford from Georgia
The USC Trojans are continuing their aggressive efforts to build an elite recruiting class for 2026, and their sights are set on four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford, who is currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. While Spafford made his commitment to Georgia on November 5, 2024, his recruitment remains open, and USC is one of the teams pushing hard to flip his commitment.

Spafford, ranked No. 85 overall in the nation by the On3 Industry Rankings, is considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country. He is also the No. 12 recruit from California, making him a prime target for USC as the Trojans aim to keep elite talent in-state. Spafford had an unofficial visit to USC on February 1, 2025, and the Trojans have kept the lines of communication open ever since, signaling their continued interest in securing his commitment.
At 6-foot-1 and with track speed, Spafford brings both athleticism and physicality to the field. His ability to break away from defenders with speed, combined with his strength to win contested catches, makes him a dynamic and versatile weapon. As one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 class, he has the potential to be a key contributor to whichever program he joins.
Although committed to Georgia, Spafford has not closed the door on other schools. In addition to USC, several other programs are actively working to flip his commitment. The Miami Hurricanes, Washington Huskies, and UCLA Bruins are among the schools making significant pushes to land Spafford. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Miami and Washington are considered the biggest threats to Georgia’s hold on the four-star receiver, with both schools having made a strong impression on him.
Spafford was also one of the elite recruits who visited USC for the Trojans’ Junior Day, and the buzz surrounding the visit suggests USC coach Lincoln Riley and his staff are doing everything they can to keep the talented receiver in California. As the 2026 recruiting cycle heats up, USC’s pursuit of Spafford is one of the most closely watched storylines.
With top-tier programs like Georgia, USC, Miami, and Washington all vying for his signature, Spafford’s recruitment is far from over, and it remains to be seen whether USC can successfully flip him from Georgia and bring him to Los Angeles.
