Four-Star OL Bott Mulitalo Commits to BYU, Boosting Cougars’ 2026 Recruiting Class
BYU football has secured a major win on the recruiting trail. On Wednesday, four-star offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo announced his commitment to the Cougars, giving head coach Kalani Sitake and his staff a cornerstone piece for their 2026 recruiting class.

Mulitalo, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound interior offensive lineman out of Highland, Utah (American Fork High School), is rated as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the nation, per 247Sports. While he’s played primarily tackle at the high school level, college scouts project him to slide inside and become a high-impact interior offensive lineman (IOL) at the next level.
Mulitalo was previously committed to Oregon before reopening his recruitment in March. He quickly became one of the most sought-after offensive line prospects in the 2026 cycle, drawing interest from USC, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Oregon once again. However, it was BYU offensive line coach T.J. Woods who ultimately helped seal the deal for the Cougars.
“Homemade, nun new ⚪️,” Mulitalo wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming his commitment in a quote tweet from recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett.
This is the second four-star recruit BYU has landed this month, joining elite tight end Brock Harris, who committed just a few weeks ago. Both Mulitalo and Harris are ranked inside the top 100 nationally, adding serious talent and momentum to BYU’s 2026 class.
With Mulitalo’s pledge, BYU now has a strong building block in the trenches and continues to show it can compete with Power Five programs for blue-chip prospects. According to 247Sports, this commitment jumps the Cougars up to No. 8 in the Big 12 and No. 33 nationally in the 2026 recruiting class rankings—potentially BYU’s best class since 2010, which featured top QB Jake Heaps.
Mulitalo is the first offensive lineman to commit to BYU in the 2026 cycle, but he likely won’t be the last. His commitment could open the door for additional in-state talent to follow suit, as BYU continues to build a foundation along the offensive line.
With over a year left in the cycle, BYU is off to a strong start—and Bott Mulitalo is a major reason why.
