Philadelphia Eagles Sign WR Terrace Marshall Jr. to One-Year Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles are adding depth to their receiving corps, agreeing to terms with wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on a one-year deal, according to NFL Media. The former Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders wideout will join a high-powered Eagles offense looking to retool after an up-and-down 2024 season.

Marshall, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU, brings untapped potential and a big frame to the Eagles’ wide receiver room. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, he entered the league with high expectations after a standout college career.

At LSU, he was part of the historic 2019 national championship team that featured fellow wideouts Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.

During his three seasons with the Panthers, Marshall never fully found his footing in the offense. He finished his Carolina stint with 64 receptions for 767 yards and a single touchdown. His most productive campaign came in 2022, when he caught 28 passes for 490 yards and scored his lone NFL touchdown.

Despite flashes of potential, consistency and opportunity were hard to come by for the young receiver. He was briefly with the Las Vegas Raiders in early 2025 but did not make a regular-season impact.

Now with the Eagles, Marshall gets a fresh start in a dynamic offense led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and featuring star receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. While Marshall is unlikely to crack the top of the depth chart immediately, he provides valuable size and could be a strong contributor in three- or four-receiver sets.

The Eagles are betting on upside with this signing. At just 24 years old, Marshall still has time to develop into a reliable weapon, especially in an offense that can create space and mismatches. Philadelphia’s coaching staff has a track record of helping underutilized players thrive in new roles, and Marshall could benefit from that approach.

For now, the deal represents a low-risk, potentially high-reward move for the Eagles. If Marshall can stay healthy and capitalize on his new environment, he could emerge as a key depth piece — or even more — in 2025.

As the Eagles gear up for a competitive NFC East race, all eyes will be on how well Marshall fits into the offensive scheme and whether he can finally deliver on the promise he showed coming out of LSU.
