The long-awaited Oasis reunion was officially confirmed last August, and anticipation is growing as fans eagerly speculate about the songs they’ll perform during their Australian shows.
This tour marks the first time the Gallagher brothers have shared a stage since their infamous altercation at France’s Rock en Seine festival in 2009, which ultimately led to the band’s breakup.
A Liam Gallagher fan page has revealed that the opening song will be “Acquiesce,” the only Oasis track featuring both Noel and Liam on vocals. Following that, they will perform their first UK number-one hit, “Some Might Say,” from their iconic album What’s the Story) Morning Glory?.
The Gallaghers are expected to continue with a selection of fan-favorite tracks such as “Lyla,” “Shakermaker,” “The Hindu Times,” “Columbia,” and “Cast No Shadow.”
It seems they’re saving their biggest hits for the finale, with their 1994 debut single “Supersonic” rumored to be the 15th song on the setlist.
However, a notable absence from the list is “Wonderwall,” their most-streamed song on Spotify, which has over two billion listens. Some fans are still holding out hope it will make a surprise appearance during the encore.
In response to speculation, Liam Gallagher teased a fan on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “It’s not far off.”
Another rumor circulating is that the show will only last an hour. When a fan asked Liam about it on X, he cheekily replied, “Just under 59 mins 59 secs,” before later confirming, “We’re obv going to play longer” and adding, “Ask a silly question, you’ll get a silly answer.”
Although there won’t be a performance in New Zealand, many Kiwi fans are traveling abroad for the reunion. One dedicated fan joked on X, “I’m coming all the way back to Manchester from NZ for this… I hope the 59 mins and 59 seconds is worth it.”
