LSU Hosts Annual Coaches Clinic with Special Guests from the New Orleans Saints
As college football season heats up, LSU is preparing for an exciting event that will bring together some of the biggest names in coaching. Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will be welcoming a special group of coaches from the New Orleans Saints to Baton Rouge later this month for their highly anticipated annual Coaches Clinic. Scheduled for late March, this clinic promises to offer an unparalleled opportunity for coaches to learn from and interact with some of the most successful minds in football.
Headlining the clinic is none other than Kellen Moore, the newly appointed head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Moore, who gained nationwide recognition for his role as the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator during their Super Bowl LIX victory, is one of the biggest names in Louisiana sports at the moment. His arrival in Baton Rouge marks a significant moment for both LSU and the Saints, as Moore’s leadership continues to captivate football fans in the region.
Joining Moore for the clinic will be his new staff from the Saints, including Offensive Coordinator Doug Nussmeier and Defensive Coordinator Brandon Staley. Nussmeier, who previously served as the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach during their Super Bowl run, has spent considerable time alongside Moore, making him a natural addition to the event. Staley, who spent three years as the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coach, recently joined the San Francisco 49ers staff as Assistant Head Coach in 2024. His vast experience and expertise on the defensive side of the ball will no doubt provide valuable insights for those in attendance.
In addition to Moore and his Saints’ staff, the clinic will also feature some notable college football figures. Jon Sumerall, the head coach of Tulane’s Green Wave, will bring along members of his coaching staff, adding a collegiate perspective to the proceedings. Louisiana-Lafayette’s head coach, Michael Desormeaux, will also be in attendance with his staff, contributing to the wide range of coaching knowledge and experience that will be shared during the three-day event.
This year’s Coaches Clinic is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. With an impressive lineup of experienced coaches from both the NFL and college football, attendees will have the opportunity to learn valuable strategies, insights, and techniques from some of the best in the business. As the LSU Tigers continue to build on their success under Brian Kelly, this event will help foster valuable connections and growth within the coaching community, further elevating the game in Louisiana and beyond.
