The Texas Longhorns’ offensive line is set to undergo a significant transformation next season, with standout players Kelvin Banks Jr., Jake Majors, and Cameron Williams all declaring for the NFL Draft.

As a result, head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are focused on reloading the trenches to maintain their team’s competitiveness.

Top-100 OT Kodi Greene Previews College Commitment

On Thursday night, 2026 offensive line prospect Kodi Greene announced that he has received an offer from the Longhorns. Greene, currently committed to the Oregon Ducks, is one of the most highly sought-after players in the 2026 recruiting class. He is ranked as the No. 20 overall player, the No. 5 offensive tackle, and the No. 3 player in California.

Greene took to social media to share the news, writing, “I’m excited to share that after a visit from [Texas offensive coordinator and offensive line coach] @KJJFlood this morning, I’ve received an offer to @TexasFootball.”

In an interview with Hank South of Horns247, Greene expressed his enthusiasm about the offer. “It feels great,” he said. “I was looking forward to that offer pretty soon. It feels really good to get it. I was on the call with (offensive coordinator Kyle Flood) earlier this month, and I guess he thought he offered me. He said he wanted to let me know that I have it. I was just really excited, really happy to start building a relationship with him.”

Greene is an imposing presence on the field at 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds. Currently a junior at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, he’s already earned a reputation as one of the top offensive line prospects in the nation. Mater Dei is a powerhouse program that has produced NFL stars such as Bryce Young and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Greene initially committed to Oregon on August 12, 2024, but Texas’ interest signals they are looking to make a strong push to flip his commitment.

For the Longhorns, securing Greene would be a significant addition to their 2026 recruiting class, which currently includes only two commits: four-star quarterback Dia Bell from Florida and three-star wide receiver Chris Stewart from Texas. With the 2024 season now in the rearview mirror, Sarkisian and his staff are ramping up recruiting efforts to ensure the program’s continued success.

As Texas prepares for its transition to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in 2024, landing top-tier prospects like Greene will be essential for competing against some of the nation’s most elite programs. The Longhorns’ ability to develop relationships and attract high-caliber talent reflects their determination to build a formidable roster for years to come.
