Dallas Cowboys: Could Davante Adams Be the Solution to Their Offensive Woes?

Bleacher Report recently proposed a trade scenario where the Cowboys send a third- and fifth-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for Adams. The six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection finished the 2024 season with 1,063 receiving yards over 14 games — three with the Raiders and 11 with the Jets. Adams has surpassed 1,000 yards in six of the last seven seasons, with his one miss being a 997-yard effort in 2019 when he only played 12 games. Twice leading the league in receiving touchdowns, Adams has cemented himself as one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers.
At 32 years old, Adams’ production remains strong, but his future with the Jets is uncertain, particularly if Aaron Rodgers retires or departs. Adams has forced his way out of two teams in the past, and he could seek a new home once again if the Jets fail to contend. A pairing of Adams with Lamb would give Dallas one of the league’s premier receiving duos, providing quarterback Dak Prescott (or whoever is under center) with a dynamic arsenal of weapons.
Adams has already expressed admiration for Lamb, calling him a top-five receiver and comparing him to himself during an appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast in 2023. For Dallas, acquiring Adams could be a bold move that signals their intent to contend immediately. With ample cap space and draft capital, the Cowboys have the tools to make this move a reality.
