Mike Vrabel: Family, Legacy, and Community – The Man Behind the Patriots’ New Head Coach
Mike Vrabel, the newly appointed head coach of the New England Patriots, has a family deeply rooted in sports and community service. Married to Jennifer Vrabel, a former collegiate volleyball player at Ohio State University, the couple has two sons who have pursued their own athletic paths.
Their eldest son, Tyler Vrabel, followed in his father’s footsteps by playing football. He started on the offensive line for the Boston College Eagles for three years and declared himself for the 2022 NFL Draft. Undrafted, Tyler was signed by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2022 preseason.
Their younger son, Carter Vrabel, chose a different athletic path by committing to play baseball at Wabash Valley College in September 2019. He then spent two seasons with Volunteer State Community College before transferring to Tennessee Tech for his final year.
Beyond their athletic pursuits, the Vrabel family is dedicated to community service. Mike, along with former Ohio State teammates Ryan Miller and Luke Fickell, founded the “Mike’s Second and Seven Foundation” to promote literacy in the central Ohio area.
This strong family foundation and commitment to community service have been instrumental in shaping Mike Vrabel’s leadership style and values, which he now brings to his role as head coach of the New England Patriots.
