“Bears Provide Injury Update on Safety Jaquan Brisker Ahead of Week 8 Matchup”
The Chicago Bears shared an update on safety Jaquan Brisker, who hasn’t played since suffering a concussion in Week 5 during a helmet-to-helmet collision with Carolina Panthers’ Tommy Tremble. Both players left the game after the incident. Brisker returned to play on October 6 after clearing concussion protocol but experienced symptoms the next day. He was diagnosed and did not travel with the team to London for their October 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears’ bye week in Week 7 gave Brisker extra time to recover.
Head coach Matt Eberflus provided an update, noting that Brisker is still in the concussion protocol but progressing well, with a potential return in Week 8. Brisker has been a key contributor to the Bears’ strong defensive performance this season, playing 293 snaps across five games and earning solid Pro Football Focus grades in defense, run defense, tackling, and pass coverage. The 2022 second-round pick has recorded 40 tackles, three tackles for loss, two pass breakups, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception. If Brisker isn’t ready for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders, Elijah Hicks is expected to fill in, as he did in Week 6 against the Jaguars.
