JUST IN:Chicago Bears Faces a Potential Decision Regarding Veteran Wide Receiver Keenan Allen In a Contract Reunion.

“Bears Face Tough Decision on Keenan Allen’s Future, Eye Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka in 2025 Draft”

The Chicago Bears face a key decision regarding veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen as his contract expires after the 2024 season, potentially leading them to target one of Ohio State’s top pass-catchers.

Allen had a standout game in Week 6, catching all five targets for 41 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, proving valuable to rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. However, with Allen set to become a free agent in March and turning 33 in April, the Bears must carefully consider their options.

The team already has star wideout D.J. Moore under contract through 2029 and drafted Rome Odunze in the first round of the 2024 draft, reducing their need to invest heavily in another veteran receiver. Even if they want to retain Allen, his price tag may present challenges.

Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Staff suggests the Bears might instead shift their focus to the 2025 NFL Draft and consider selecting Ohio State’s standout slot receiver, Emeka Egbuka. “Though Allen had a breakout performance Sunday, his overall impact has been limited this season,” the report noted. “Ryan Poles could look to the upcoming receiver class, with Egbuka offering a promising replacement.”
