Jaguars’ star accuses teammates of quitting during the Bears game.

Tensions are rising within the Jacksonville Jaguars locker room after safety Andre Cisco publicly accused some of his teammates of quitting during their 35-16 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 6. The defeat, which took place in London, has further deepened the team’s struggles, dropping them to a 1-5 record and raising questions about their culture and cohesion.

Cisco, a vocal leader on defense, did not hold back in his post-game comments. “There were some guys out there who quit,” Cisco said bluntly, expressing his frustration with what he perceived as a lack of effort from certain players. The accusation has sent shockwaves through the team, adding another layer of scrutiny to an already disappointing season. As the Bears built a commanding lead in the second half, the Jaguars appeared listless, and Cisco’s comments have highlighted a deeper issue of accountability within the roster.

Jacksonville’s performance against Chicago was marked by a series of miscues and a clear lack of energy as the game progressed. Caleb Williams, the Bears’ rookie quarterback, dominated the Jaguars’ defense, throwing multiple touchdowns and exposing holes in the secondary. Despite early signs of life from the Jaguars’ offense, led by Trevor Lawrence, they were unable to sustain momentum, and the game quickly spiraled out of control.

Head coach Doug Pederson, now under mounting pressure, acknowledged the team’s struggles but stopped short of directly addressing Cisco’s comments. “We didn’t play the way we needed to, and that’s on all of us—coaches, players, everyone,” Pederson said. However, the coach’s vague response has left many wondering whether there will be any internal repercussions or changes to address the apparent lack of effort.

Cisco’s public criticism is unusual for a team in the midst of a challenging season. Typically, such concerns are kept within the confines of the locker room, but Cisco’s willingness to call out his teammates suggests that frustrations have reached a boiling point. For the Jaguars, who entered the season with hopes of improvement, the loss to Chicago and the subsequent internal strife are signs that things may be unraveling quickly.

The Jaguars’ next game, also in London against the New England Patriots, could prove to be a pivotal moment in their season. With mounting criticism, both from within the team and from outside observers, Jacksonville will need to regroup quickly. Pederson’s ability to rally his players and address the concerns raised by Cisco may determine whether the Jaguars can salvage their season or continue down a path of disappointment.

As the Jaguars return to the practice field, all eyes will be on how the team responds. Cisco’s comments, while harsh, may serve as a wake-up call for a squad that has yet to live up to its potential. Whether the players take that challenge head-on remains to be seen, but it’s clear that change is needed if the Jaguars hope to turn things around.
