Just In: Celtic Beats Rangers In Wide Gap At With Champions League Windfall.

“Celtic Set to Outspend Rangers with Champions League Success, Financial Expert Reveals”

Celtic could begin to significantly outspend Rangers if they consistently secure a spot in the Champions League knockout stages, according to finance expert Stefan Borson, who told Football Insider that such success could bring in up to £100 million for the Scottish champions.

Despite a 7-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund in their second group stage match, following a 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in their opener, Celtic still face away matches against Atalanta, Dinamo Zagreb, and Aston Villa, and home games against RB Leipzig, Club Brugge, and Young Boys.

Celtic are already set to earn more from their European campaigns compared to Rangers due to the greater prize money available in the Champions League versus the Europa League.

Borson emphasized that qualifying for the Champions League knockout rounds would allow Celtic to widen the financial gap with Rangers. He explained that if Celtic can become regulars in the competition and earn around £100 million annually, they will be able to increase their spending on wages, making it difficult for Rangers to keep pace. While this financial disparity may not concern Celtic, it could pose a challenge for Scottish football as a whole.
