“SEC Releases Updated Injury Reports for Alabama-Georgia Matchup and New Conference Policy”
On Thursday, the SEC published the latest availability report for all weekend conference matchups, including an update on Alabama’s injuries ahead of their game against Georgia.
There were no changes for Alabama from the report released on Wednesday. The Wednesday report listed Alabama’s Wolf linebacker Qua Russaw, linebacker Jeremiah Alexander, and running back Richard Young as probable, and their status remained the same on Thursday.
Players Malachi Moore and Cole Adams were not mentioned in either report, suggesting they will be available to play. Moore had suffered a head injury in the game against Wisconsin, while Adams sustained an upper-body injury during the South Florida matchup.
For Georgia, there was a change from Wednesday to Thursday: wide receiver Sacovie White was downgraded from questionable to doubtful. White has recorded two catches for 22 yards this season. Starting offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, along with wide receiver London Humphreys and running back Roderick Robinson II, are all confirmed to be out for Georgia.
Defensive linemen Mykel Williams and Jordan Hall remain listed as questionable, while Warren Brinson is considered probable.
No. 4 Alabama (3-0) and No. 1/2 Georgia (3-0) will meet on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC, playing at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Additional availability reports will be provided on Friday and Saturday before kickoff. These reports, now required by the SEC for all conference games, are part of a new policy this season. The same policy will also apply to men’s and women’s basketball as well as baseball.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, in announcing the policy, stated that it aims to reduce pressure from external parties seeking player participation details and demonstrates a commitment by the SEC’s 16 institutions to enhance transparency and protect both student-athletes and the integrity of the competition.
