Shocking Alarm 🚨: Cowboys Opens QB Caelen Carson and Safety Markquese Bell News Ahead of NFC East Duel With Giants.

“Cowboys Face Secondary Challenges Ahead of Key NFC East Matchup Against Giants”

The Dallas Cowboys have listed cornerback Caelen Carson as doubtful for Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants due to a shoulder injury, which further depletes their secondary for a key NFC East clash. Safety Markquese Bell is also doubtful with an ankle injury, but the Cowboys reported no other major health concerns.

Carson, a fifth-round pick from Wake Forest, has been a starting cornerback since Week 1, stepping in after Pro Bowler DaRon Bland underwent foot surgery in August. Bland could return from injured reserve as early as next week, with an expected return before the end of October.

In the meantime, the Cowboys (1-2) may have to face the Giants (1-2) without either Carson or Bland as they attempt to break a two-game losing streak. To cover Carson’s absence, the Cowboys could shift slot corner Jourdan Lewis to the outside and use Israel Mukuamu, who played safety last season but has demonstrated versatility in covering slot receivers and tight ends.Shocking Alarm 🚨: Cowboys Opens QB Caelen Carson and Safety Markquese Bell News Ahead of NFC East Duel With Giants.

If Lewis stays in the slot, Andrew Booth may see significant playing time in his debut game for Dallas. Booth, acquired from the Vikings during training camp, has been inactive for Dallas so far this season. Another possible replacement for Carson is veteran cornerback Amani Oruwariye, currently on the Cowboys’ practice squad. Oruwariye, a former starter for the Lions, could be elevated to the roster for the game.

The Giants are also facing secondary issues, with cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson and Dru Phillips sidelined due to calf injuries. Their absence could give Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb an advantage in the slot, where he has excelled in recent seasons.
