“Garang Kuol’s Loan Hopes Dashed by Devastating Injury Setback”

Recent questions surrounding Garang Kuol’s inability to secure a loan move this summer have now been answered.

It appears his streak of bad luck continues, as the Australian international has reportedly sustained a quad injury, which derailed his chances of securing a temporary move during the final month of the transfer window.

Jacob Whitehead of The Athletic reports that Kuol suffered a grade three tear in his right quad during training, which is expected to sideline him for approximately eight weeks.

This isn’t the first injury setback for the young player. Kuol missed Newcastle’s tour of Japan in July due to a short-term injury, just as he was hoping to make an impression on manager Eddie Howe.

The 19-year-old could still leave Newcastle on loan in the January window, with previous interest from clubs in England, Belgium, and Portugal offering potential options after unsuccessful loan stints at Hearts and Volendam.

Despite featuring in Newcastle’s post-season tour in Australia, it seems increasingly unlikely that Kuol will feature in Eddie Howe’s first-team plans this season, with younger talents like Trevan Sanusi appearing higher in the pecking order.
